Why are the fan blades of the cooling fan in odd number?

Cooling fans are generally not used alone, but are used together with heat sinks. It is composed of motor, bearing, blade, shell (including fixing hole), power plug and wire.

This is mainly because to maintain the balance of the cooling fan operation and reduce the impact of resonance as much as possible, the odd-numbered fan blades are the best choice, and it is difficult to balance the symmetrical points of the even-numbered fan blades on the mold. So for the cooling fan, it is not a good thing to be a pair.

The motor is the core of the cooling fan, generally composed of two parts: stator and rotor.

In the selection of cooling fans, we often compare the air pressure and air volume. For normal ventilation, the air pressure and air volume need to overcome the resistance in the ventilation stroke of the cooling fan. The cooling fan must generate pressure to overcome the air supply resistance, which is the wind pressure. .

Wind pressure is an important indicator to measure the performance of a cooling fan. The wind pressure mainly depends on the shape, area, height and speed of the fan blade. The faster the rotation speed, the larger the fan blade. The higher the wind pressure is, the better the air duct design of the heat sink can maintain the wind pressure of the fan.
