Tesla Cybertruck enters the body-in-white stage, orders have exceeded 1.6 million

December 13, the Tesla Cybertruck body-in-white was displayed at the Tesla Texas factory. The latest information shows that as of mid-November, orders for Tesla’s electric pickup Cybertruck have exceeded 1.6 million.

Tesla’s 2022 Q3 financial report shows that the production of Cybertruck has entered the equipment debugging stage. As for mass production, it will start after the Model Y production capacity ramps up. It is speculated that delivery is expected to start in the second half of 2023.

From the perspective of the body-in-white, the front half is similar to the conventional model, with two doors on the side, but the structure of the rear half is more complicated.

Earlier, Musk said on the social platform, “Cybertruck will have enough waterproof ability, it can act as a boat briefly, so it can cross rivers, lakes and even less rough seas .” This function cannot be determined at the current body-in-white stage.
