Hunan Daily·New Hunan Client News on August 31st, reporters learned today from CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. that the company independently developed two main generators and traction motors for 18-ton axle load narrow-gauge diesel AC locomotives exported to Congo (DRC). The main product has been delivered to the host company for loading applications.
The two main products for export are based on Zhuzhou Electric Company’s internationally advanced key technologies and application platforms for narrow-gauge diesel locomotive drive systems. Through research on key technologies such as motor electromagnetic design, motor structure optimization, bearing lubrication and sealing, a main generator and traction motor drive system for narrow gauge diesel locomotives with narrow gauge, low axle load and high torque has been formed.
Compared with other similar products at home and abroad, it has the advantages of large torque density, small size, light weight and less maintenance. The main generator adopts a protective radial self-ventilation structure and has the characteristics of large rated capacity, high voltage level and high efficiency. Compared with the same type of meter-gauge AC traction motor, the traction motor has a rated torque increased by 17% and a maximum torque increased by 12%. It has the advantages of compact structure, large torque, good space utilization, and high torque density per unit weight.
CRRC Zhuzhou Electric Co., Ltd. began the development of supporting motors for narrow-gauge AC transmission diesel locomotives in 2013, and completed multiple projects such as supporting traction motors for diesel locomotives with small axle load (16 tons and small wheel diameter). It has a number of invention patents and utility model patents for supporting motors for narrow-gauge AC diesel locomotives. The supporting motors developed have independent intellectual property rights and the products are exported to Thailand, Kenya and other countries.
