- We all know that motors are electromagnetic devices that realize the conversion or transmission of electric energy according to the law of electromagnetic induction. Motors are used in many fields. Its main function is to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. At present, the most commonly used method is to use heat energy, water energy, etc. to drive the generator rotor to generate electricity. With the increasing maturity of wind power generation technology, wind power has gradually entered our lives. So what should we do for the inspection method of motors?

1. For new or long-term unused motors, the insulation resistance between windings and windings to ground should be checked before use. Usually, a 500V insulation resistance meter is used for motors below 500V; a 1000V insulation resistance meter is used for motors between 500-1000V; and a 2500V insulation resistance meter is used for motors above 1000V. The insulation resistance shall not be less than 1MΩ per kilovolt working voltage, and shall be measured when the motor is cooled.
2. Check whether there are cracks on the surface of the motor, whether all fastening screws and parts are complete, and whether the motor is fixed in good condition.
3. Check whether the operation of the motor transmission mechanism is reliable.
4. Check the data on the nameplate, such as voltage, power, frequency, connection, speed, etc., to see if they are consistent with the power supply and load.
5. Check whether the ventilation of the motor and the lubrication of the bearings are normal.
6. Turn the motor shaft to check whether the rotor can rotate freely and whether there is any noise when rotating.
7. Check the assembly of the motor brushes and whether the brush lifting mechanism is flexible and whether the position of the brush lifting handle is correct.
8. Check whether the motor grounding device is reliable.
