The main characteristics and application range of swing gates

Swing gates are one of the most common pedestrian access control systems. They are typically installed at the entrances and exits of various businesses, residential communities, hospitals, schools, scenic spots, office buildings, libraries, train stations, and subway stations. Swing gates are used to verify the identity information of pedestrians and are used as a primary access control system. Swing gates, along with wing gates and tripod turnstiles, are considered the three major categories of access control systems. Besides existing as ordinary access control gates, swing gates can also be used as more advanced speed gates. To further understand swing gates, Innovation Technology will introduce their main characteristics and applications below.

The main characteristics and application range of swing gates

A swing gate is an access control system that uses a rectangular panel gate as its main structure and operates by rotating one side around a central axis. It has the following main characteristics:

  1. The swing gate has both infrared and mechanical anti-pinch functions, making it safer and more reliable when the gate is in operation.

2. The mechanism uses brushless motors and high-grade geared motors in some parts, which effectively achieves the synchronization of the gate’s swing and the accuracy of its positioning.

3. The swing gate has a user-friendly status indicator function to indicate the channel status and passage instructions, effectively improving passage efficiency and facilitating maintenance.

4. The turnstile has an anti-collision function. Specifically, when the gate is closed and is impacted by an external force, it can be selected that the gate cannot be opened after the impact or that it can automatically return to its original position after being opened by the impact.

5. The swing gate has multiple types of access indicator lights, with a green light when passage is permitted, a red light when passage is prohibited or illegal entry is attempted, and a blue light when not in use.

6. The gate control panel can also be set to voice broadcast. Details can be set in the menu to greet or prompt pedestrians when they enter.

7. The swing gate has abundant expansion interfaces, which can be connected to card readers, Bluetooth devices and facial recognition devices, and can also be interconnected with QR code scanning devices.

8. The entire turnstile operates smoothly with low noise, and its opening and closing are rapid and responsive, making its operation outstanding in terms of being green, quiet, and efficient.

Swing gates are widely used; they can be used as access control systems in almost any place where people need to enter or exit. Below are some representative application areas:

1. Residential communities: Regular residential communities are usually under closed management, so it is necessary to install swing gates to prevent outsiders from entering and exiting at will.

2. Schools: As important places for students to learn and live, schools are usually under closed management, so swing gates need to be installed to ensure safety on campus.

3. Enterprises or office buildings: Both of these are company-owned premises, and generally, unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter or exit at will. Therefore, swing gates are installed to prevent outsiders from entering.

4. Libraries or gymnasiums: Both of these are either membership-based or fee-based.

Indoor venues require swing gates to stop entry verification, as do clubs and gyms.

5. Parks or scenic spots: Both of these are paid admission venues, so gates are needed to verify ticket information before entry to prevent fare evasion.

6. Train stations or subway stations: When we take trains or subways, we often see turnstiles when entering and exiting the station. We need to swipe our ID card, ticket, or scan our facial information before we can pass.
