Which kinds of motors are high-efficiency and energy-saving products?

For motor products, higher power factor and efficiency are important signs of their energy-saving levels. Power factor assesses the ability of a motor to absorb energy from the grid, while efficiency assesses the level at which a motor product converts the absorbed energy into mechanical energy. Having high power factor and efficiency is the goal that everyone is looking forward to.

For the power factor, different series of motors will be stipulated in the technical conditions of the motor due to their own limitations, which is the country’s assessment factor for electrical equipment. The motor efficiency, that is, whether the motor saves energy, involves a problem of how to define it.

Power frequency motor is one of the most widely used motor types at present. At present, the country has stipulated through mandatory standards. GB18613-2020 is for rated voltage below 1000V, powered by 50Hz three-phase power supply, and the power is in the range of 120W-1000kW. 2-pole, 4-pole, 6-pole and 8-pole, single-speed closed self-fan cooling, N design, continuous duty general purpose electric motor or general purpose explosion-proof electric motor. For the efficiency values corresponding to different energy efficiency levels, there are regulations in the standard. Among them, the standard stipulates that the IE3 energy efficiency level is the minimum energy efficiency limit value currently specified, that is, the efficiency of this type of motor reaches IE3 (corresponding to the national energy efficiency level 3). ) level, can be produced and used, and the corresponding standard 2 and 1 energy-efficiency motors are energy-saving products, and the manufacturer can apply for energy-saving product certification. In layman’s terms, when this type of motor enters the market, it must be affixed with an energy efficiency label, and the energy efficiency level corresponding to the motor must be affixed on the label. Motors without a label obviously cannot enter the market; when the motor efficiency level reaches Level 2 or Level 1 , it proves that the motor is an energy-saving electrical product.

For power-frequency high-voltage motors, there is also a mandatory standard GB30254, but compared with low-voltage motors, the energy efficiency control of high-voltage motors is relatively weak. When the product series code YX, YXKK, etc. contain the word “X”, it means that the motor is in accordance with the mandatory standard. The efficiency level controlled by the standard also involves the concept of standard limit value and energy saving efficiency level.

For permanent magnet synchronous motors, GB30253 is a mandatory performance standard for this type of motor, and the implementation of this standard also lags behind the GB8613 standard. However, as consumers and producers of electric motors, they should be very aware of the relationship between these standards and the requirements for efficiency limits.

Inverter motors and permanent magnet synchronous motors are the iconic symbols of energy-saving products. The natural characteristics of using them together with frequency converters determine the prerequisite for this type of motor to save energy, which is also one of the factors that make this type of motor better occupy the market in recent years. one.
