The world’s first Mercedes-EQ dealer settled in Yokohama, Japan

On December 6, Reuters reported that Mercedes-Benz’s world’s first pure electric Mercedes-EQ brand dealer opened on Tuesday in Yokohama , south of Tokyo, Japan. According to a Mercedes-Benz official statement, the company has launched five electric models since 2019 and “sees further growth in the Japanese electric vehicle market.” The opening in Yokohama, Japan also shows how much Mercedes-Benz attaches importance to the Japanese electric vehicle market.

Foreign brands sold a record 2,357 electric vehicles in November, accounting for more than a tenth of total imported car sales for the first time, according to the Japan Automobile Importers Association (JAIA) JAIA data also showed that among all models, Mercedes-Benz sold 51,722 vehicles in Japan last year, making it the top-selling foreign car brand.

Mercedes-Benz’s global car sales in the third quarter of 2022 were 520,100 units, up 20% from a year ago, which also included 517,800 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars (up 21%) and a small number of vans.
